Here are the interviews with the people who
eyewitnessed and survived the terrorist
Attack on School #1 in Beslan, Russia on September 1st-3rd, 2004:
Kristina's
Diary - Kristina Dzagoeva, a 13 years old girl, was taken
hostage with her mother Ludmila and her 10 year old sister Zera. Kristina
and her mother survived but Zera was killed. Kristina kept her diary
for the entire three days, describing 52 hours of horror. The diary
takes several pages in Kristina's notebook. "Somebody is attacking
the school", "shot on the spot", "they killed my
little sister" - those phrases are written in round child handwriting.
The words are wrapping around cute animals - the symbols of the world
which had been exploded and demolished in the school gym.
The excerpts from Kristina's diary were published by German magazine
Bild and the Russian website www.utro.ru.
Diana Gadzhinova,
14-year-old girl hostage. "It took us all by surprise...part of
the ceiling fell in...arms and legs were lying everywhere.
Anzor, a rescuer
who helped in the smaller of the school's gyms. "We broke in, and
saw piles of men and women, and children too... two girls shouted and
waved to us... I waved back to show that I was coming for them... Then
there was an explosion..."
